Dear friends and supporters,
In Slovakia, children in every 14th household are raised by only one parent. In as many as 84% of cases, the upbringing is handled solely by the mother, while the father is often absent, sometimes completely. Single fathers, although they make up “only” 16%, experience single parenthood even more harshly.
These parents often feel lonely. They are ashamed to speak about their exhaustion and discrimination. Until recently, they didn’t even know where to turn for help.
That is why we came into existence – JEDEN RODIČ n.o. We help single parents and their children in single-parent households through professional and humanitarian support. Because in these families, more is missing than just a second income. Parents are left to manage everything on their own—raising children, taking care of the household, and providing for the family. Some single parents don’t even have a regular income, as they are discriminated against in the job market.
Donate 2% of your tax to single parents. Thanks to your support, someone among your friends or loved ones may be able to endure their most difficult life moments with greater dignity.

Individuals who file their own tax return for 2024:
- From the list of beneficiaries, choose the recipient: Fórum života, civic association.
- Calculate:
a) 2% of your paid tax – this is the maximum amount you can donate to the beneficiary. The minimum donation for one recipient must be at least €3.
b) 3% of your paid tax – if in 2024 you volunteered at least 40 hours and obtain a Confirmation from the organization(s) for which you worked as a volunteer in 2024. - Fill in the Declaration on the allocation of the tax share and attach it to your tax return, which must be sent or submitted to the relevant tax office by March 31, 2025 / or June 30, 2025 at the latest.
a) Verification at the tax office: the tax authorities have 90 days from fulfilling the conditions to transfer 2% (3%) in favor of our organization.
b) You must not have any tax arrears.
Employees
Employees who requested their employer to perform the annual settlement of income tax advances for 2024:
Instructions for donating 2% (or 3%) of tax for EMPLOYEES who requested their employer to perform the annual settlement of income tax advances:
- By February 15, 2025, ask your employer to perform the annual settlement of income tax advances and also to issue a Confirmation of Paid Income Tax for 2024.
- Ask your employer to provide you with the form Confirmation of Paid Income Tax.
- From this Confirmation, you can determine the date of payment of tax and calculate:
- 2% of your paid tax – this is the maximum amount you can allocate to the beneficiary if in 2024 you did not volunteer or volunteered for less than 40 hours. This amount must be at least €3.
- 3% of your paid tax – if in 2024 you volunteered at least 40 hours and obtain a Confirmation from the organization(s) for which you worked as a volunteer in 2024.
- From the list of beneficiaries, choose the recipient: Fórum života, civic association.
- Fill in the pre-prepared form Declaration on the allocation of the tax share together with the amount you wish to allocate to us.

- By April 30, 2025, submit both forms – the Confirmation of Paid Income Tax for 2024 and the Declaration on the allocation of the tax share – to your relevant tax office. If you allocated 3% of your tax, you must also attach a Confirmation of volunteering at least 40 hours along with the Declaration and the Confirmation of Paid Income Tax.

Legal entities
Instructions for donating 1% (or 2%) of tax for legal entities (LE) for 2024:
- From the list of beneficiaries, choose the recipient: Fórum života, civic association.
- You can verify the recipient through the Chamber of Notaries register or via the Financial Administration.
- Legal entities may donate 1% (or 2%) of their tax to several beneficiaries, with a minimum donation of €8 per recipient.
- Calculate your 1% (or 2%) of corporate income tax.
- Fill in the tax return with the verified recipient details.
- In the corporate income tax return, there are designated fields for donating 1% (or 2%) of the tax to one recipient. If you have chosen more than one recipient, enter all the required identification details of the beneficiaries and the amounts you wish to allocate. In box 5, indicate the total number of recipients to whom you want to allocate a share of the paid tax.
- By March 31, 2025 / or by June 30, 2025, submit the properly completed tax return electronically, or within the deadline applicable to your tax return submission. Pay the income tax by this date as well. If you are not obliged to communicate electronically with the Financial Administration, submit the completed tax return within the deadline to the Financial Administration and pay the income tax within the same period.
- The tax office has a statutory period of 90 days, after verifying the information and fulfilling all conditions, to transfer the amount(s) you have allocated.
- Since 2018, legal entities are required to communicate with the Tax Office electronically. Therefore, you can assign 2% of your tax only through the electronic system for authorized users: OIZ – Personal Internet Zone.
ATTENTION! If a legal entity wishes to allocate 2% of tax, the deadline for filing the tax return is also the last deadline for donating 0.5% of tax. If the legal entity does not donate 0.5%, then in 2025 it can only allocate 1.0% of its tax.

- Facilitating the work system of the entire team of specialists, experts, and volunteers through an online application, ensuring that families receive help as efficiently as possible
